St Augustine

Admiral JoeWiener Schnitzel at Le Pavillion, St. AugustineSt. Augustine City MarinaBy 8 am this morning we embarked on our second day of this great adventure going north with the Contessa.

A glorious day with calm seas, blue skies and fair winds encouraged us to take on 168 mile run  all the way from Ft Pierce to the beautiful old city of St Augustine.it was a long run of almost 8 hrs and the weather was changing along the way. Wind picked up and the calm sea with huge long swells turned more choppy ending in a following sea. We skipped by a stomach cell and were visited by occasional dolphins which eventually became a pod of dolphins right at the inlet to St Augustine.

Would I prefer such a long run again? I would say no and the conditions as they were were not too condusive to meal preparations or any activity below the deck. Definitely not my cup of tea! Nevertheless the journey was smooth and uneventful. The engines and all the rest of the technicality on board worked flawlessly which is a blessing in itself!

Technical issues with communication devices have been emerging and we ventured out to get a new MiFi of AT&T. Let’s see how it behaves tomorrow at sea!

Fabulous dinner at La Pavilion, a Gernam-Swiss restaurant was superb and memorable!

Love this old city and the lifestyle seems so mellow, mimicked by the temperature as well.

  1. I would love to visit St. Augustine someday & explore! Do you remember our boat trip across Lake Okeechobee?!
Wishing you a wonderful trip full of wonders &
    adventures.
    Love you guys!!!

    • Thank you Jessica!
Yes I do remember our trip over to Captiva across lake Okeechobee.
That was quite something, wasn’t it?
May your journey of life be filled with great things as well!
Love you and wish you well!

  2. So glad day two has been a good one. A German-Swiss restaurant named La Pavalion? Only in Florida. 😉

May your coming days at sea be a bit shorter, the sunsets awe-inspiring, and your joys plentiful.

    Love to you both
    Jennifer

  3. Thank you Jennifer!
Yes, that is an interesting fact but once you understand the Swiss-German combination and the fact that Switzerland has an Italian side and a very French side to it, it does make sense! Thought, the attraction lies in French cuisine for sure more than in German or Swiss!
As you can see in my blog of today, it was an interesting day and an other very long run for sure. I was promised that tomorrows will be a much shorter one going to Charleston. There we are to meet Michael and Katie but not Jessie girl. She is a working woman these days and takes her job very seriously! That is great to see for it does not happen too often with young people today!
    Blessings of Love and Light!
