To Coinjock, NC – Norfolk, VA

It is Sunday morning and we have completed our first full week on Contessa going north. Just about 7 am we have left our dock at Beaufort, NC where we spend a peaceful night and a fabulous meal on the Contessa. Beaufort is a quaint little town which we remember as being sleepy and lacking action from our previous visits, This time around it is hustling and bustling with tourists and some mega yachts that crowned the docks right down town and in front of all the action. Here we encountered some of our old friends that we met in the Exumas and other ports that we visited.
Good memories and great times.
It is a glorious day in God’s creation and we are on our way to make this 120 NM run to the border of NC and VA. This trip will take us along the ICW, through Pamlico Sound, inside of the Oregon Inlet and Albemarle Sound. Oregon Inlet is famous for the Carolina custom boat fishing fleet. It is a beautiful day for the ride! The rest of the days events will be posted at our destination!
It was so nice that the Contessa herself decided to do some yoga up on the bowe at 20 NM speed. Quite impressive and fun to do!
Well, as the day progressed and we moved on soundly and smoothly we decided to continue onward towards Norfolk. At Coinjock just quarter of three. It is a lovely little town and we certainly must return and visit it on our way back home.
We decided to move on because of a couple advantages that Sunday offers. One of them being the bridges that we are to encounter on our way to Norfolk. Monday morning there are many restrictions to the openings and also I would like to see Marin and Vanessa while being in the vicinity!https://contessagoesnorth.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/image1.jpg
