Onward to Cape May, NJ and beyond!

A barge in the C&D channelPower plantBridge at the entrance to C&D ChannelIt is Wednesday morning and a glorious and sunny day. All indications that it will be a hot and steamy day. Just at about 7 am we have pushed off from our dock, secured all bumpers, tidied up all lines, prepared some oatmeal for breakfast, made coffee and tea. Off we go on this days new adventure crossing the northern tip of the Chesapeake, going through the C&D channel into the Delaware River and straight to Cape May. With fair weather and calm seas it should be a smooth ride and a beautiful day out on water. I declare it to be a magnificent day in God’s creation!
It has been a smooth ride up to Cape May and we arrived just about lunch time which made us move onward towards Atlantic City, NJ. There is some weather and wind on it’s way over night which would make our ride up the NJ coast an unpleasant one, and so we decided to move on towards AC.
And that we did. The ocean is already restless and it is choppier by the minute but we are almost there.
It is just short of 5 pm and we are fueled up and docked in the Golden Nugget Marina in Atlantic City, NJ. It has been a good boating day and we decided to take it as far as we did. This will shorten our run on the open ocean tomorrow, which is a blessing for there should be some S-SW wind building up from 5 to 15 KN as the day progresses. We are heading towards the Sandy Hook area and into the Shrewsbury River where we shall rest through Sunday.
It is family time and all those that live in that area are welcome to see us and spend some time with us on the Contessa.
May the blessings continue and the spirits watch over us as we progress towards Canada and the Maritime islands and beyond!Delaware LighthouseTrump Tower, AC, NJ
